Table 87 caught distributor shortages the way a lot of small CPG teams do: one person in accounting, one production manager, and 20 to 30 minutes of manual code-checking every time a check came in. Since onboarding with Glimpse, Table 87 has recovered $93,247.87 in deductions and cut that per-check investigation time down to seconds.
Table 87 is a family-owned pizza brand crowned "The Home of the Coal Oven Slice," founded in Brooklyn in 2012 by Thomas Cucco. The company operates three brick-and-mortar shops in Brooklyn, ships its coal-oven-style pizzas nationwide, and has appeared on Shark Tank. Table 87 has distributed through UNFI and KeHE since roughly 2014 and sells through premium retailers including Whole Foods Market and Wegmans, alongside food service and direct-to-consumer channels. The company falls in the $1–10M revenue range, and its deductions are managed by a small accounting team, led by Crystal Reed, Business Operations Manager, who handles the work alongside a wide range of other operational responsibilities.
Before Glimpse, every UNFI and KeHE remittance at Table 87 went through the same manual process. Crystal Reed, Business Operations Manager at Table 87, and the production manager sat down together, looked up each deduction code on the check, and decided whether it held up.
Once we would receive the invoices and payments from UNFI, we'd check the coding and have to do investigations, and then submit chargeback disputes with all of the vendors. This would take up a lot of time, probably 20 to 30 minutes for each investigation.

That 20 to 30 hit every time a check landed, whenever that happened to be, and it competed with everything else on a small team's plate.
Table 87 also had no Bills of Lading on file when the two companies started talking. Their 3PL system was, in Reed's words, "super unorganized," and the team had been disputing shortage claims using signed invoices instead, a workaround that had won some disputes before but wasn't built to scale as Whole Foods deductions started stacking on top of UNFI and KeHE.
With a small team already stretched thin, Reed reached out to Glimpse looking for a bit of relief from the time the process was taking.
Once Table 87's data was flowing into Glimpse, the platform took over the parts of the process that used to consume Reed's week: decoding each UNFI and KeHE charge, matching it to Table 87's general ledger, and filing the dispute directly with the distributor. Glimpse also organized every deduction code into a clear chart of accounts, something Reed had previously had to explain line by line to her own accounting staff.
The chart of accounts also took a recurring burden off Reed directly. She'd previously had to walk her own accounting staff through each code by hand — this one's a shortage, this one's a promotion, this one's a render fee — since the categories weren't intuitive on their own. Now the classification and the backup documentation are both just there, ready for the accountants without her having to translate it each time.
On the documentation side, Glimpse guided Table 87 toward a real BOL process instead of relying on invoices alone. Going forward, every BOL needed to be signed, dated, and organized by PO number so Glimpse could match it to the right dispute.
Glimpse has helped me because they pushed us to have the BOL instead of the invoices we used to use. That helped us do the disputes in a seamless way, and it eliminated the process of us doing the disputes ourselves.

Glimpse also automated cash application, matching UNFI and KeHE remittances directly against Table 87's invoices and giving the accounting team a single check summary instead of a manual reconciliation spreadsheet at month-end close.
Since onboarding, Glimpse has recovered $93,247.87 for Table 87, and most of it came from deductions too small to have been worth Reed's time to chase individually before.
It's been adding up. Maybe a thousand dollars here, $700 here, $500 here. I believe Glimpse saved us like $95,000 so far this year.

Her estimate lines up closely with the confirmed total.
Reed credited the gap between what Glimpse caught and what her team had found on their own to bandwidth. The shortages were always there, her team just didn't have the time to dig for all of them.
The time savings have been just as real. What used to take 20 to 30 minutes per check now takes seconds, and that freed-up time has gone straight back into the rest of Reed's workload.
Table 87 is redirecting the dollars Glimpse has recovered back into growth instead of losing them to distributor shortages.
"We can allocate the funds to doing some more marketing and promotions, rather than it being used for the shortages they've been hitting," Reed said.
Table 87 is also working to expand beyond its premium retail base into more conventional grocery and big-box channels as production scales, alongside its ongoing food service and direct-to-consumer business. The BOL gap that started this relationship is no longer a blocker: Table 87 has since moved to a real Bill of Lading process, signed and itemized by PO, giving Glimpse stronger documentation to dispute against going forward.
"Glimpse has been helpful for being transparent on the fees and charges and shortages that the distributors charge us for, and it's been a time saver for our team's accounts receivable work," Reed said.
