When CPG brands ship products to a major retailer — Walmart, Target, Amazon — the retailer often pays less than the invoice. These short pays are called "deductions." Sometimes they’re valid. Often they aren’t.

The problem: most brands don't have the time or staff to look at each deduction, figure out if it’s invalid, and contest the shortpay. At scale, that means millions in revenue owed to CPG brands just drains away.

That was the case at Evermark, which owns personal care brands like Suave, Chapstick, and Q-Tips. Their third-party deductions broker had a threshold: any deduction below $500 was automatically written off due to a lack of resources and time. 

For enterprise brands, one $500 write-off is a drop in the bucket. But at scale, the sheer volume of deductions adds up to a torrent of lost revenue. Evermark’s sub-threshold write-offs had become a silent, abandoned revenue stream: invisible on any dashboard, never flagged as recoverable.

Evermark partners with Glimpse to identify $2M in invalid deductions

Glimpse ran a 12-month lookback across Evermark’s two largest retail channels. After two months, Glimpse’s AI had uncovered over $1M in invalid retailer deductions that Evermark had written off. Revenue that was recoverable all along: but Evermark’s team hadn’t had the time or resources to go after it.

Glimpse’s AI was able to tackle Evermark’s deduction problem at scale. In 24 hours, a single AI agent reviewed 17,000 shortage deductions: a task that would have taken a full-time employee two years to complete.
